This year I am doing a trip similar to last years, with stops in Elko Nevada, Driggs Idaho, Jackson Wyoming, Bozeman Montana, Livingston Montana, Cameron Montana and back home.

The 500 drive to Elko, Nevada, where I'm staying tonight was much easier than previous trips. It might be because the temperature was 85 degrees versus the 110-115 degrees the past couple road trips.

Monday, August 11th, 2014

This morning I left Elko and traveled into Idaho. This week I'll be staying in Driggs, Idaho which is a very cute town at the base of Grand Targhee Ski Resort, just a short drive over the hill from Jackson Hole, wyoming.

Today was a day to relax from a long drive and prepare to fish tomorrow and Thursday.

Wednesday, August 13th, 2014

My first day fishing is at the Natural Retreats Lodge on the South Fork of the Snake River in Swan Valley Idaho with Guide Stacey Hill.

Wednesday, August 13th, 2014

The weather was extreme today, going from a beautiful early sunny morning to a huge downpour of rain with lightning and thunder so close to us that we decided to get out of the boat and hide under a tree for awhile.

Staying overnight in a tent camp on the river. What a treat not to have to drive home after a long day of fishing. The chef BBQ'd steaks tonight.
